Maidens at Elderflower

A Maiden is any young girl or woman who is in the seeking phase. Maidens are searching for who they are in the world, how to connect with the world, how to connect with their inner knowing and with their own higher power (highest self).

Elderflower's Maiden program focuses on girls under 18.

2007 Maiden Coordinator's message
to Mothers and Daughters

Hello, my name is Xela (pronounced as Shayla), and I have been attending Elderflower since the age of ten. I turned twenty this year, so this will be my eleventh consecutive year at Elderflower.

I have now been girl’s coordinator for two years already, and I am very honored to be able to make the girls’ experience at Elderflower just as enjoyable and fun as the adults’ and mine have been.

The camp ground is a great and safe place to explore, and the creek is safe to swim in and/or to take walks in. In terms of activities: I will bring henna, coloring supplies, painting supplies, T-shirt decorating supplies, and I’m sure I think of more ideas by the time of camp.

I will also arrange for a night walk on one of the nights. And I may also pick a workshop I would like the girls to attend, but it is not mandatory, (as is nothing else).

I am not there to force anything upon the girls that they are not happy with. I am there for their comfort to help them feel safe and at home while they are at camp, because I remember how scary my own first experience at camp was, so if they need someone to show them around or have any questions I am there to provide to the best of my ability.

If there are any questions, requests for activities, or anything else you may call and leave message and I will call back as soon as I am able. Phone: (510) 367-4974
Thank You
     ~Xela
