Way of the Amazon Warrior
II
We empower ourselves physically by practicing various self defense
movements which include basic blocks, kicks, punches, restraining holds
and summoning of physical power. (Mostly covered in first workshop, with
some emphasis in second)
We empower ourselves sexually by fully owning our own bodies, valuing
our right to protect ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually, and
owning our desires, the source of our Wild Womon nature.
We empower ourselves spiritually by invoking Goddess and our Amazon
ancestors, past, present and future, by dancing, drumming, and raising
power! Together, we weave Amazon Sisterhood!

Creating a
Quilt Square for the EF Memory Quilt
Again this year we are inviting each Elderflower participant to create
a Memory Quilt. It will be a very simple quilt this year so no worries.
There is no art experience required. Just come, make your mark and I will
do all the work to weave you into the fabric that we call Elderflower.
Then next year come back to Elderflower and put in for the raffle to win
the quilt to take home for the year. We hope that each year the previous
quilts will be brought back to be hung in the dining hall during the festival.
We will raffle the quit from 2005 off this year during the talent show
on Friday night. |

Beginning Meditation
and Self Healing for Women
In this workshop, women will learn some meditation basics: grounding,
centering, running energy, and using their own female creative energy for
self-healing. Diane will guide participants through a one-hour meditation,
with the workshop set at amusement and self-healing.
Diane is an artist, project manager, and psychic in the San Francisco
Bay Area. She has seen energy most of her life, and recently completed
a one-year intensive clairvoyant training program in order to find her
own clarity around this experience. Spiritually, Diane draws from many
traditions, and aligns most closely with Wicce.

Shamanic Journey Circle
Shamans are the healers, psychologists, and storykeepers of their communities.
Within the context of a sacred circle, we will journey to the sound of
the drum. You can find your power animal (your helping animal spirit) or
teacher, and familiarize yourself with the landscape of the Lower, Middle
and Upper worlds of non-ordinary reality. The sound of the drum induces
a special state of conciousness, which allows each particpant to travel
to non-ordinary reality where you can access information unavailable to
you in "normal," waking reality. This is an experiential workshop. There
will be time to share our journeys. Bring a frame drum, or rattle and a
journal or notebook to record your journey. We meet at night, so bring
a blanket for warmth. Naomi has been leading this drumming circle at Elderflower
since 1993. She leads a monthly shamanic circle for women in San Francisco. |

Increasing Diversity - a
discussion
The Womenspirit Community is getting older. What can we do bring in
younger women and help Elderflower feel more welcoming for all women? I
especially want to focus the discussion on age and cultural diversity.
Should we lower the age of girls allowed at the festival? Women of color
come to the festival, but they frequently don't come back. Lets discuss
ideas to broaden the diversity of our community. |

"Formed in
Strength and Beauty": Breast Casting Women's breasts. Often the
subject of patriarchal pornography yet deemed "obscene" if uncovered in
public in order to feed an infant. When you look in the mirror at your
bare breasts what feelings come up? Do you accept and love your breasts
as they are, "Formed in Strength and Beauty?" or do you see only imperfection?
Are you tired of patriarchy claiming, controlling and using women's breasts
for it's own purposes? Are you ready to finally find and celebrate the
innate beauty and sacredness of every woman's breasts? If so, come join
Sierra in this multi-sessioned workshop to reclaim, honor and celebrate
your breasts as both beautiful and sacred.
In this series of two workshops participants will learn about the history
of patriarchal obsession with women's breasts. We will explore our own
experiences of our breasts and, as a means of reclaiming and honoring them,
will make plaster casts, then a breast-bust of plaster that, once dry,
can be decorated and (hopefully) will be displayed at the festival on Sunday
in honor and celebration of the sacred act of reclaiming our breasts. Women
should bring a bath towel to the sessions in order to make a holder for
the breast cast for drying.

Discussion
regarding Raising the Age for Croning
There are many ways to define "Crone": one who haas stopped bleeding;
a womana past her second Saturn Return (around age 56); one who feels she
is a grandmother. These days when hysterectomies at a young age a common,
as are hormones that continue the bleeding, the definiition gets more coplex.
So instead of examining each on a case by case basis, the current Elderflower
practice is this: any
woman over 50 who so chooses, is a crone.
Some Crones are currently discussing the idea of raising the age for
Croning to 56. This is the earliest age for a second Saturn Return, and
is considered to be the middle of the menopausal years. If you are a current
crone, or a woman approaching 50 and are interested in joining the discussion,
please come to this gathering. |

Post-Peak-Oil Discussion
This is a lecture/discussion workshop. The first part will discuss the
concept of Peak Oil: What it is, how it will affect the world in the near
future, and why “alternative” fuels won’t solve the problem. The second
part is centered on the solution of Relocalization, which means to bring
society and community back to a more sustainable, self-sufficient, local
level.
